Quattro Stagioni

Quattro Stagioni

Italian for “Four Seasons,” the phrase Quattro Stagioni fits this photo well. I took it in December of 2002 and like it because of its mixture of natural elements from each of the year’s seasons.

Today is my cousin Joe’s last day of school. It’s actually a half day, so my grandpa and I are waiting till his bus arrives so we can go to town and run some errands. One nice thing about homeschooling was not having to bend lives around the schedules of others. We could do what we wanted to do when we wanted to do it. Flexibility makes for shorter school days and the ability to pack more learning into the same time period. But anywho, I think I’ll read for a bit before his bus gets here.

Any of you know anything about Will Durant? There is a series of his history books in the library. I wanted to know a bit about him before reading the books, but I was only able to find that he was a philosopher and historian, but nothing about his actual philosophical beliefs or his historical methodology. Don’t go out of your way to check, but if you know anything off the top of your head, I’d be interested in learning what you know of him.

Lastly, this is the first real post I’ve made by sending an e-mail, one of the neat features of both Flickr and WordPress. In fact, if all goes well, this should end up as a Flickr photo as well as a journal entry. Fun stuff.
